Danfoss Trata and the Jožef Stefan Institute are the recipients of this year's TARAS award, which is presented by the IRT Industrial Forum, the organiser of the main professional event for Slovenian industry, to recognise the most successful cooperation between business and the research and development environment in the field of innovation, development and technology.
Danfoss Trata and the Department of Systems and Control at the "Jožef Stefan" Institute received the award for the development of intelligent motor drives which, in combination with pressure regulators without auxiliary energy, enable the optimisation of the entire district heating or cooling and substation network.
The researchers of the Department of Systems and Control contributed the skills that the in-house research team lacked to successfully develop some innovative solutions in the development of a new family of intelligent motor drives for optimising district energy networks, thus giving the company a market advantage over its competitors, which is also reflected in three international patents and trademark protection.
This is the second TARAS award for successful cooperation between Danfoss Trata d.o.o. and the Department of Systems and Control. The award was also granted in 2015.
